sweep this weekend only to lose out in their afternoon contest Sunday.
Saturday opened the Canes SQA Red's NJYHL season with a solid 8-0 victory over

Thanks to John for posting this information. The Hurricanes Squirt B team opened their season
this past weekend by splitting their first two league games. They won their
season opener against Brick by a score of 6-3. The team got the offense going
early and played a strong defensive game holding Brick to only 9 shots on goal.
On Sunday, they faced a tough Jaguars team and let this one slip away from them.
The team kept pressing the whole game but couldn't get the offense going.
Next weekend, the Canes Squirt B travels to Lawrence to play the Flames on
Saturday and to Grundy to play the Senators on Sunday in non-league action.
Go Hurricanes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to Jeff for posting this information. The Canes SQA Red team enjoyed a good weekend
with two exciting games versus solid Non-League opponents.
Saturday's contest took the Canes to play the Lancaster Firebirds SQAA team, who
had defeated the Canes 6-2 earlier this season. This time, the Firebirds, who
never had a lead in the game, could only muster a 3-3 tie against our hometown
Canes. It was a nail biter game down to the end and an excellent matchup between
these two clubs.
Sunday saw the Canes travel north up the NJ Turnpike to play the NJ Colonials
SQA team. With a strong comeback effort in the 3rd period, the Canes won the
game 4-3 to improve their record this season to 4-3-2, all in Non-League
competition.
The Canes SQA Red team opens it's NJYHL season this coming weekend with games
against the Atlantic City Sharks and the Flyers Youth squad from Voorhees.
Another Non-League matchup is also on the docket against the Rappahannock River
Rats SQAA team from VA at the Vineland Ice Arena on Sunday. A busy weekend lies
ahead for our Canes SQA Red squad. Go Canes!

non-league game at Hollydell 9/30, after trailing the whole game the Canes came
up strong in the 3rd period, scoring 4 goals and beating the Patriots 6-5. The
HUGE win of the weekend was our 1st league game of the season against the Flyers Youth, most of the players on this team have never defeated the Flyers Youth. We were down 7-3 at the end of the 2nd period and came back strong scoring 5 goals in the 3rd period, winning the game 8-7. Way to go guys -- Keep up the great work!
